What our maintenance covers

  • Ground clearance

Garden clearance can be a long and arduous task, especially when you don’t have access to industrial tools. We have the tools and expertise to clear your hedges, trees, vegetation, sheds, debris and more. We can level your ground and take care of seeding, turfing and planting whilst we’re at it.

  • Grass cutting & lawn care

At MCH Landscaping we can take care of your lawn for you and schedule regular maintenance visits to ensure your garden looks great all year round. We can even shape up your flower beds, clear weeds and trim your shrubbery as part of your one-off or regular garden maintenance visit.

  • Decking, patios & driveways

Without regular maintenance, your patio or driveway can begin to look tired. We offer a pressure washing service for patios, driveways and decking. This can be paired with the reapplication of paving sand and application of sealant for years of hassle-free maintenance.

  • Hedges and shrubs

Hedge cutting, shrub pruning and shaping to keep plants healthy and in proportion.

  • Beds and borders

Weeding, mulching and tidying flower beds, and clearing leaves and debris from lawns, paths and beds.

  • Pest and disease checks

Keeping an eye out for pests and disease while we work, so problems are caught early.

What to plan before booking maintenance

  • Regular or one-off

Decide whether you want regular visits through the year or a one-off job, such as a clearance before a sale or a spring tidy.

  • What to keep

Walk round the garden and note the plants, features and wild corners you want left alone, so nothing is cleared by mistake.

  • Access and waste

Make sure there is a way in, a key or a gate code if you will be out, and think about whether garden waste goes in your bin or is taken away.

  • Protected trees and nesting birds

Trees covered by a tree preservation order, or in a conservation area, need council consent before work. Hedges are best cut outside the bird nesting season, roughly March to August.

Good to know

  • Lawns change with the seasons

Spring and autumn are when lawns benefit most from care such as scarifying, feeding and overseeding; summer is mostly mowing and watering.

  • Pressure washing lifts jointing

Washing a patio or driveway can wash out the sand or pointing between the blocks, which is why it is best followed by re-sanding.

  • Sealant protects a clean surface

A sealant applied after cleaning helps keep stains and weeds down and makes the next clean easier.

  • A clearance can reveal problems

Clearing an overgrown garden sometimes uncovers rotten fences, failing walls or drainage issues. We will tell you what we find.

How garden maintenance works

  1. Get in touch

Tell us about the garden and what you would like done, regularly or as a one-off.

  2. A visit and a plan

We look at the garden, agree the work and how often you want us, and give you a quotation.

  3. The work

We carry out the mowing, pruning, clearance or cleaning, and take care to leave the garden tidy.

  4. Ongoing care

Regular visits are scheduled through the year, and the work changes with the seasons.

Questions customers ask

Do you only maintain gardens you have landscaped?

No. We offer maintenance to both new and existing customers, so whether we have taken care of your landscaping or not, you can book it.

Can I book a one-off visit?

Yes. From a one-off prune or a garden clearance to regular visits, the service is shaped around what your garden needs.

Do you clean patios and driveways?

Yes. We pressure wash patios, driveways and decking, and can follow it with fresh paving sand and a sealant.

Can you clear an overgrown garden?

Yes. We have the tools to clear hedges, trees, vegetation, sheds and debris, and can level the ground and seed, turf or plant it afterwards.

When should hedges be cut?

Most hedges are cut in late summer and again in winter if needed. Avoid the main nesting season, roughly March to August, as active nests are protected by law.

Do you take the garden waste away?

Tell us what you would prefer when we visit and we will agree how the waste is dealt with as part of the quotation.
